Recycle Scam Revealed

Are you really relieving stress from the planet when you recycle your old electronic? Maybe yes, and maybe no. It turns out that some recycling companies will claim to be legit, and care about our environment, but are really illegally shipping the toxic waste to wastelands in china through the black market. Here is an investigation reported by CNBC News (click on link) http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4586903n.

Now I hope this doesn't affect your ideas about recycling paper, plastic, etc. I still highly recommend doing so in the mean time because, first, when you take out the trash, that waste wouldn't make as much of a difference if it were put into a landfill here. Second, it is a matter of what's really getting recycled, from what's not. Now especially in these times, we should be conserving as much as possible. Which means LESS CONSUMERISM. If you need to get rid of your old electronic, you have options! Maybe someone can put it to good use. Or if it is totalled, and need to be discharged somehow, I would recommend doing some research before, so you can save yourself from the "Greenwashing" scam. More revelations will be posted soon, including some safe recycling companies.
